Overview

Known as the “Mountains of the Moon,” Rwenzori Mountains National Park in western Uganda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its mist-covered peaks, glaciers, and diverse alpine vegetation. The park stretches along the Uganda–Congo border and offers some of the most scenic and challenging hikes in Africa.

Rising to 5,109 meters at Margherita Peak, Rwenzori is Africa’s third-highest mountain range, offering multi-day trekking routes through bamboo forests, moss-covered valleys, and icy summits.
